Belgians Germans & More
Our Belgian beers are something special and incredibly tasty. We carry a Duchesse de Bourgogne, which is a flemish red-brown beer. It is brewed with deeply roasted malts and aged hops, which keeps the bitterness low. Duchesse de Bourgogne is commonly referred to as a mixed fermentation beer, because it is a top-fermented beer matured during a second wild fermentation in foeder barrels. Duchesse de Bourgogne is known to have a refreshingly sour taste with a sweet finish, and pairs well with Herve cheese, which is the best-known Belgian cheese.
Germany brewing holds a lot of history behind it, being home to the oldest brewery in the world. The Weihenstephan Monastery Brewery, now known as the Bavarian State Brewery Weihenstephan, has been standing for over a thousand years. With mentions of Hops as early as 768 AD, Weihenstephan has been a staple in the history and current brewing of beer. We are happy to carry all varieties of the historic Weihenstephan, excluding the Bierfest brew. In addition to carrying the oldest brewery in Germany, we also carry the top six beers that are brewed in Germany.
Augustiner: Full of light bready malts, caramel, light grasses and a dynamic hop profile makes an amazingly crisp and clean flavor.
Hacker-Pschorr: The sweet, lightly toasted, partially nutty malt is offset by floral-fruity German hops.
Lowenbrau: Starting with a crisp and light-bodied taste, and finishing with a prickly, spicy hop bitterness.
Paulaner: Blends lightly toasted malt with a pinch of spiced banana and a lemon-hop finish.
Spaten: Crisp and bubbly, a bit of biscuity malt before the graininess sets in with a mild lemon note, before a strong hop finish.
Hofbrauhaus-Munchen: Tastes of grain, hay, dough, and bitter noble hops that stay crisp and refreshing from beginning to end.
